Terracotta foot path. Nexus, Templeman Library, University of Kent.

A future facing continuation of my Nexus foot plunge, redesigning the same space sixty years from now for a UK of extreme weather. The scheme replaces electricity dependent climate systems with passive terracotta, a material that absorbs and stores heat through harsh winters, then releases evaporating water in summer to cool the air naturally. The terracotta paths, seating and structures replace the original foot plunge, turning the floor of the Nexus into a living, climate responsive surface that works with the environment rather than against it.

Big Ideas,
Real Impact.
